Jaguars Release WR Matt Jones
The Jacksonville Jaguars waived receiver Matt Jones today, parting ways with yet another 1st round pick. The club waved goodbye to wide receiver Reggie Williams earlier in the year.
Jones was jailed last week in Arkansas for violating a probation court ruling that stemmed from a drug charge in 2008.  The former star quarterback at Arkansas is still due to appear in court on April 13 after failing a drug and alcohol screening, Jones admitted to drinking alcohol at a golf game. He assured the judge it wouldn’t happen again but it looks like the Jags didn’t want to take that chance.
Jones’ departure leaves Jacksonville with depleted WR corps. Â The Jaguars cut Jerry Porter last month and opted not to re-sign Reggie Williams. Â I would look for third-year pro Mike Walker, out of Central Florida, to represent significant sleeper consideration for your fantasy drafts.
