LJ Smith Agrees to Deal w/ Baltimore

LJSmithLJ Smith and the Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.  Smith had been in talks with Atlanta and Detroit but settled on the Ravens.

Coach John Harbaugh does have ties with Smith, as both were on the Eagles when Harbaugh served as an assistant coach.  There are some skeptics out there that believe this puts Todd Heap and his large contract in jeopardy but I’d like to remind readers that Smith must pass a physical to make the deal official.

Nothing significant unless Heap does get canned but I just can NOT see the Ravens heading into 2009 with LJ Smith as their #1 TE.
